Public Art
This artwork has a combination of stained glass and Italian smalti. (Smalti is a traditional glass, thicker than stained glass, used in the ancient Roman and Greek mosaics. It is made into round forms called "pizzas and is typically cut using a hammer and chisel.) The smalti gives the artwork a different surface that reflects the light, causing the light to dance across the surface. This artwork went to a sunroom at the Mayo Health System- Luther Hospital special unit. A beautiful piece that brightens the whole room. Thank you!
